Our Process
Once you reach out we will either give you an estimate based of the photos you have provided or schedule a time for us to come out and give a free consultation. After that, we set a time to complete the work. Whether it is staining, painting, or other, we handle every task with care and attention to detail.
Online Estimates
We typically send out estimates within 6 hours of receiving them. All you have to do is confirm the price. If you have questions feel free to give us a call!
Fast Communication
We emphasize fast response times to clients when scheduling quotes or jobs, ensuring clear communication and reliability.
At Home Consultations
We will schedule a time to visit your project and give you a free estimate based on the specific work you want done.
Once the work is complete, we will collect payment in either cash/check, making your experience seamless.
About High-School Helpers
High School Helpers was founded by brothers Erik and David Schafer with a simple goal: to offer reliable and affordable maintenance services while serving our community. What started as a summer project quickly grew into a trusted service. As local students, we saw an opportunity to help our neighbors from mulching to painting, while also creating opportunity for other motivated students. We take pride in every job we do and treat each home with the same care we would our own. Supporting High School Helpers means supporting local youth and strengthening the community one project at a time.

Growing up as brothers in the North Shore area, we have had a familiar experience of being siblings. Whether who got the football or the xbox controller we fought like cats and dogs. That was until Erik was a sophomore in high school and David was in 7th grade that we started High-School Helpers. We both realized that instead of attacking each others weaknesses, we could lean on each other's unique strengths. With Erik bringing entrepreneurial initiative and his love for building teams/organizations coupled with David's skills in software and web design. It was a match made in heaven.

Starting the business was not easy, taking a lot of hard work and long hours. But knowing persistency was key, we kept at it. As the business grew, so did our bond as brothers. This has been an experience like no other, that we would not trade for the world, as it taught us more about business, hard work, and the importance of family like no other experience would.

As the summers have gone by and we start the summer of 2026 we hope to have our most successful season yet. While David has been at home studying hard in high school with the dream of becoming an engineer, and following in Erik's footsteps by playing lacrosse, Erik is attending Indiana University, studying finance with the hopes of one day becoming an investment banker. While we have never been this far apart, our bonds as brothers has never been greater, as we share the same dreams for success and building High-School Helpers.
